Life as a small business when COVID-19 hits

At last I have found a bit of time to update my blog! What a time the world is having right now.

Christmas was a fantastic and hectic time for The Hippy Hare Co. Following on from then, which seems a world away right now, we had a quick holiday and then moved home immediately on our return. Once we got all of that out of the way the Coronovirus hit and what a shock it has been for us all.

As a small business we are trying to keep our heads above water, which is no mean feat. We are very lucky in that we have the website and customers may order from there. It’s important to remember that we also help to support other small businesses, as we have many suppliers and they too will be struggling. We are so grateful for any orders we get.

We have a plan in place, so that we may still serve our regular market customers on what would normally be a market day. See below for information and dates. Thanks for reading and stay safe folks! Gail X

SOCIAL DISTANCE SELLING PLAN

On the days we would normally be attending a regular market, we will do a delivery service to that area.  

You will need to order and pay through the website and choose the ‘click and collect’ option, entering all the necessary instructions and address details in the box provided, including a contact email address or phone number (also a post code).

Due to social distancing we unfortunately will be unable to take cash or card payments on delivery, as we need to have no direct contact with you, this is why we ask you to pay via the website.  

In order to observe safety measures and social distancing we will request that you leave a waterproof box,or bag outside your door, or in a mutually agreed accessible place, we will place your order in the box/bag.

You will be able to place your order up to 12 hours before the delivery date.

We will be carrying out all the necessary safety measures, such as wearing gloves when we handle your products to bag them up.  

We will deliver free up to a two mile radius around the town/villages where we are delivering on that particular day.  

If you are out of the given area then you can organise with us to meet in a public place to pick up your order.

If you would like to collect from us, you will be able to do that also, by choosing click and collect and stating this in the instructions box on the website.  If you choose this option we will email our address and post code to you and at a mutually arranged date and rough time we will put your order in a box outside our door for you to collect.  Payment can be made through the website, or via online banking BACs.

KINETON / FENNY COMPTON / AVON DASSETT (plus surrounding areas of up to two miles)  SATURDAYS   11th APIL   9th MAY
