OUT AND ABOUT at Deddington Market!

Firstly we hope you all have had a good couple of weeks. The weather has been a bit wild, but it is February after all! We certainly cannot wait for spring!

Yesterday saw us at one of our regular markets that takes place in the lovely village of Deddington! Deddington can be found in Oxfordshire, between Banbury and Kidlington. Now, this market is well worth a visit. On the market square you will find the farmer’s side of the market, which is full of delicious edible goodies. From the market square wander over to the church and you will find all sorts of beautiful craft stalls and us of course! There is a kitchen in the church where you can buy coffees, or teas starting at £1 and a seating area. A biscuit is thrown in for good measure!

Outside on the market you will find all sorts of goodies, from artisan bread to hand crafted gins! Indian chutneys; honey; meat; veg and all sort of other delicious stuff, which is sure to get those taste buds buzzing. One of my favourite stalls is Craig Churchill’s photography stand, which has beautiful cards and photos of wildlife and nature. Truly fabulous!

Inside the church you will find an array of talented people and their crafts. Just about everything you could think of from home made jams to cards! There are beautiful items made of glass, wood and ceramic, jewellery, material and knits. It really is full of a truly talented bunch of people. We, of course are there with our stand full of very useful, plastic free, palm free and cruelty free products for you and your home!

We particularly love our Deddington days, as we now have a good regular customer base and every month a few new ones. From our point of view it’s great because we recognise and are on first name terms with most of our customers and their dogs (huge smile from me). We have a selection of dog treats behind the stall, which helps with the more shy of our four legged visitors. We’re looking forward to next month’s market already!

For those who haven’t visited yet I can highly recommend it as a great way to spend a Saturday morning. If you’re branching out and away from supermarket produce then this is the place to visit. It’s a great place to find birthday, Christmas, or Mother’s Day gifts. Supporting local people and business while shopping brings out big smiles and is a massive help from an environmental point of view. Less packaging!!

Future dates are as follows, pop them in your diary.

28th March, 25th April (we will not be at this one), 27th May, 27th June
